Marine salvage is the process of recovering a ship, its cargo, or other property after a shipwreck. Salvage encompasses towing, re-floating a sunken or grounded vessel, or patching or repairing a ship. Today the protection of the environment from cargoes such as oil or other contaminants which can harm the safety of humans is often considered a high priority.
MA-Solutions can offer practical advice and management of salvage and sustainable recycling of vessels and marine structures in accordance with the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (2009) (IHM guideline Resolution MEPC.269(68)) and the EU Ship Recycling Regulation, No 1257/2013 (EMSA’s Best Practice Guidance on the Inventory of Hazardous Materials).
