Purchase Ship Survey

Purchase Ship Survey

A purchase ship survey is a pre- purchase inspection focussed on hazardous materials. Although a particular vessel may have a well-documented history of the use and maintenance of hazardous materials (green passport), it is in the best interest of the buyer that the findings of hazardous materials result specifically from its current state.

The survey is therefore based solely on a purchase condition of the vessel in all accessible areas of the vessels structure, paint systems, lubricants, pipe systems, machinery and equipment in line with the SOLAS regulation II-1/3-5, the EU Ship Recycling Regulation, No 1257/2013 and/or the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (2009).

The input of a pre-purchase survey is a baseline measurement and provides a potential buyer information about the current condition, any necessary follow-up steps and a correct purchase price.
