Refractory Ceramic Fibres

Refractory Ceramic Fibres (RCF) are a sub-category of man-made vitreous fibres (MMVF) manufactured for high temperature, high performance thermal insulation applications. In addition to the surveys for the presence of asbestos containing materials, there is also the possibility to include the presence of ceramic fibres within these surveys. This type of material is widely used especially in the maritime and industrial sector to isolate high temperatures. Similar as asbestos, refractory ceramic fibres also have a carcinogenic effect and therefore the same risks occur when people are exposed to these fibres.
